    Wireless stops with prolonged/over use

I recently upgraded my OS from Vista Home to Ultimate (a clean install).

It seems as though after I have been using the internet for a while or if I am using too much bandwidth (downloading a few things or have a couple windows open) my wireless stops. I have access to the network - just the actual wireless internet stops.

I can't use the diagnose feature by right-clicking as it never has a solution that actually fixes it - I've tried them all. We have several other computers in the house and they don't have problems with it - it also happens when I'm at work as well. When I attach the computer directly to the modem (even while this problem happens) the internet works fine. The only fix is restarting - but that's quite annoying and happening often.

I have downloaded the newest drivers for this computer from HP (its a DV9200 CTO pn: EZ345AV) and I can't figure it out.

Any help would be overly appreciated!

its do with your router.. its something very common that the router gets overloaded.. it normally happens when u r using internet wirelessly not through cable..
ohh the solution can be to reduce the speed of download on your wireless connection perhaps u have set it too high

Wouldn't the other computers in this house have the same problem? Also, why would I get this problem at work too (at a University)? Finally, I didn't have this problem before the upgrade to Ultimate - so I still have a feeling it maybe with my computer, and not the router.

    Anything else?

Did you do a clean installation or an "upgrade"?

And I've overloaded my modem myself as well - Downloading 6-7Gigabytes worth of files at 2mb/s each after 45 minutes the modem overheated and I had to unplug it!

It was a clean install. It didn't really give me an option.

I don't really download too many big files that would mess up the router. My roommates have no issues when this happens to my computer, which makes me think it's a single computer issue.

OK, since this was a clean installation, have you ran Windows Update to get all of the pertinent updates for your system?

Yep! I'm fully updated. I do a check every two days or so.

If you could, click on the link below, take a screen-shot of the results and post it. Of course, do this on the computer in question

Re: Wireless stops with prolonged/over use

I have a similar problem with my Belkin router. I download about 2-3GB and then stop. I have to reboot it regularly. I've just updated the firmware and hope that will fix it.
