Hi I have a laptop at home running Vista Home Premium & have a vpn along with RDP set up to log into our work network & remote is onto a PC running XP Pro.
My VPN gets me into the work's network however I now cannot connect the remote desktop anymore, this has been set up for over a year & no issues, now will not connect at all.
The error I get is: Remote Desktop Disconnected This computer cannot connect to the remote computer. Try connecting again. If the problem persists contact owner of remote computer or your network administrator.
ok so I have tried to ping the static IP address of the remote computer & it times out & states 100% packet loss.
I was also in the office yesterday & checked that the RDP was accepting incoming connections & I have made sure that it is do not use a terminal gateway server is checked in the advanced tab.
I have password & user name on the PC & have checked that it still has a static IP address assigned. I also have the full name of the computer inserted?
Any other troubleshooting ideas? I've been all over the net & tried most of the offered solutions?
