Connected to a network at 100% but no internet?

So I am actually posting on this forum for my g/f. She has a Dell Inspiron 1521 running Vista Home Premium x32 on a 64 AMD Athlon processor with 2gb of memory. The issue that we have been encountering is simply this. Her internet just decided it didn't want to work anymore. She was checking her e-mail when the web page said that the internet connection was no longer available. We are currently at school so I told her to take it to "Computing Services" but they said that there was nothing they could do on their end because the computer was connecting to the server just fine. When I look at it I was confused myself. According to windows the internet connection is at an excellent signal strength and the networking map goes all the way green to the glob. So the internet should work. I look over the other forums to see if anyone else had this issue and tried their fixes as well. (i.e. turned off TCP/IPv6 and even got rid of AVG and turned off the firewall) nothing seems to be working. Also to top it off plugging it in hardwire doesn't work either. So does anyone have any suggestions or is it safe to assume that her network card is dead?

    Hello Azurkan,
If I got it right, she is using wifi. If that is the case, it is most probably because even though the wifi network working perfectly, there is a problem with the internet suplier. You can't really do anything in that case, except maybe contact your suplier for information.
Being who I am, I may be completly wrong, but I had my shot at it.

Do you have a another pc that you can plug in to see if the new pc can get to the internet? What does ipconfig /all say?

Is the schools dhcp server set to 1.1.1.1? generally this should be the same as your default gateway. Try going to another computer and connecting, then do an ipconfig on that machine and compare them. Might lead ya in the right direction.

    Here are the problems:
    Subnet Mask..............................:255.255.255.128
    Lease Obtained...........................:Tuesday, March 09, 2010 8:30:20 AM
    Lease Expires..............................:Tuesday, March 09, 2010 9:30:19 AM

    - Your DHCP server is on a completely different network than you are so I have no idea how you are acquiring an address.

*edit* I did not read this was a school access point... Hmm...

I don't know how you are doing this if I am reading this right and remembering correctly. The DHCP server has a Class "A" address with a Class "C" subnet mask. The pc and the DNS server have Class "C" addresses with Class "C" subnet masks.

This would work if the routers had correctly filled out routing tables. If not, then looks like its broken. However, others are still using it so I have no clue.
