Strange problem with connectivity to internet

Hello,

I'm using windows vista home premium 32bit on my HP dv6226tx with latest updates installed.

I'm having strange problem of connectivity frequently.

After i browse for some duration or open more tabs, i dont know which reason, i can't open any website other then google,gmail..

Though i can connect and browse any site at same time on my ipodtouch.

Both interner explorer as well as google chrome doesnt open any site when such happens but google,gmail works..

After i restart pc, it works again..

sometimes if i wait and dont restart, it starts working and again stops mostly.
any diagnosis?

wht shd i do?

I have the same problem with Google Chrome - it begans to crawl and will take FOREVER just opening Google or Gmail - I uninstalled and use Firefox instead, and now I'm fine. Sorry I don't have a better answer than that. :huh:

The tabs that are open are they bandwidth consuming sites? i.e. Youtube, CNN, or any other in browser flash video site? Downloading while browsing? Torrents?

I am still runnning a beta version of chrome for Linux and have no such problems. I doubt a final version as the one for windows has a problem like that.

Nope, simple sites no download in background, and both IE and Chrome have problem when one stop other too.

Hmm, this isnt a router problem, as you can still surf on ur ipod. You can try firefox, or restarting your browser whenever this happens (i mean killing the actual process).

havent installed firefox as new version was too slow due to lots of preloaded plugins..
if i'll encounter error again, i'll install it and disable all plugins and test it..

rightnow using IE8 and chrome.

It could even be a power setting on the machines wireless card. If the iPod surfs with no problem there is something wrong with the machine.

From a command prompt type netstat -r -v and see what you get.

I dont know how to interpret..

firefox doesnt come with any plugins or addins installed from any of the mozilla sites. did you d/l from elsewhere? or another possiblity you have been hit with malware there is malware that plants fake plugins and would also explain the slowdown/hangs.
have you scanned for nasties yet?

Well, no malware , plugins are by default due to preibstalked programme Luke adobe flash, roboform, idm etc.
