Open a command prompt and type the following without the quotes;
"ipconfig /all" and yes, there is a space between the g and the /. Then post the results back here.

Well I tried this and still no internet. Also I have talked to the D-Link techs and they also ran me through a bunch of comand prompt's using ipconfig and they themselfs cant figure this out. :huh: Im starting to think maybe this is a vista compatibility problem. Worst part of this all is the store I bought this from accepts to returns on open packages, otherwise I would just exchange for a PCI Card.

The ipconfig /all does not fix anything, is just gives us information. Please post the results of the command here. I have a laptop running Vista Home Premium 32 bit that is just wireless. A couple of times I could not get on the Internet. The first fix was to power off the laptop, the wireless router and the cable modem. Powered on the cable modem first , let it cycle up all the way, then the router and then the laptop. That worked, the second time it could not connect to the Internet, I tried the same procedure and it did not work. So I manually added the DNS addresses of my ISP to the laptop and voila, it now works.

I see by the ipconfig data that you have both a hardwired and wireless connection enabled at the same time and both of them have valid ip addresses. Your wireless connection has an DNS IP address that is external to your network while the hardwired connection has a DNS IP address of your internal router. Have you tried powering off the pc, the router and cable modem; and then power on the cable modem, let it completely power up, then power on the router, then power up the pc?

My Computer

I will try that now. But I have a modem/router combo. So I will just power on modem/router then PC.

I found this on another post on this forum. It worked there.

_*TCP/IP stack repair options for use with Vista or 7. *_
Start, Programs\Accessories and right click on Command Prompt, select "Run as Administrator" to open a command prompt.
Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: *netsh winsock reset catalog*
Reset IPv4 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. *netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log*
Reset IPv6 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. *netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log*
Reboot the machine.

Hope this helps.
