Tomato on Linksys WRT54G ver. 6

After I moved all of the stuff from my old house, I brought my old XP computer and put in my room. My Vista is in the living room. I wanted to connect the XP computer to the Internet but I have DSL so I cant connect it directly. I borrowed a Linksys WRT54G ver. 6 from my friend and I was wondering if I could find a way to use Tomato on it. Thanks in advance for all the help:)

It is firmware that can be installed onto your router that basically reverses its functions. Instead of receiving a signal via ethernet and sending it out wirelessly, it receives a wireless signal and sends it out via ethernet. It's just like a wireless card except better. Unfortunately, it is a very complicated process and if done incorrectly could turn your router into a brick.

Heyy,
All i can say is just do some googleing and see if anyone has managed to do it before, you say its a complicated process and could brick your router, i wouldnt try it unless i knew what i was doing, hence why google will come handy!

Daniel =)

Turns out the version of the Linksys router I had was not the right version and therefore incompatiable with tomato. Looks like i'm gonna have to do it the old fashioned way and buy a wireless card.
