Wireless Card Cutting Off?

I recently bought a new desktop, with a Ralink RT61 Turbo Wireless LAN Card. This desktop uses Windows Vista Home in 32bit. Not my preferred OS, but the price was so very right that I was willing to overlook it.

I also have a second desktop that runs Windows XP Home, which heads the wireless network - router/modem (2Wire AT&T crap) is all set up to it.

Now, the problem is my wireless on the new computer - with Vista - is cutting out entirely seemingly at random. Either it can't detect at network, or when it can I get the "Wireless association failed because Windows did not receive any response from the wireless router or access point" message.

It may also be worth noting that I do have a laptop (XP) ~6 feet from the Vista Desktop, and it never loses its signal with the network. Finally, it may be worth noting that sometimes the problem fixes itself in minutes, and sometimes it takes hours. There seems to be no rhyme nor reason to how it is working (or not).

The driver on the wireless card in the vista is up to date. The power setting are also set for maximum performance out of the wireless card. I'm not really sure where to go with here - I don't deal with Vista much. Any suggestions?
