For quite a while I've been getting terrible lag spikes, its not related to the windows vista wireless problem (Vista-Anti Lag works fine for the 60 second lag) this lag happens when my wireless signal bounces strength (Doesn't matter where I am in my house either) I can have 5 bars and it will drop to 4 for about 30 seconds (during this 30 seconds is a massive amount of lag exceeding 1000ping) then it will go back to 5 bars and it will be fine until it decides to bounce again.
Some of my computer specs:
windows vista home premium x64 (latest updates)
4gbs of ram
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+ (2 CPUs), ~3.0GHz
Wireless Adapter: [Linksys RangePlus Wireless Network USB Adapter] (WUSB100)
Router Access Point: 2wire 3800HGV
ISP: AT&T U-Verse
Some of the things I've tried
-Plugging the wireless adapter into different USB slots
-Moving the router access point around
-Reformatting PC with a clean install
-Windows 7
-Changing the wireless channel (1-11)
-changing the security type (WEP,WPA etc)
-Rebooting the access point
-different wireless adapters
-I have had two different ISP's since this started, just now has it really really began to bother me (I currently have AT&T U-Verse with a 2wire router, before I had yahoo dsl with a WRT54G router as my access point
If anyone can spread some insight on how to fix this I'd really appreciate it.
