Hello can anyone help? When I try to connect to my wireless broadband on my laptop, its showing my network with full signal, but when I click connect, it's telling me I can't? I know my wireless is working because I'm on my desktop PC right now which uses the same connection. Anybody know where it's all gone wrong?
I only know the basics when it comes to computers so sorry if this is all a bit vague... any help is much appreciated :)
Thanks x

Hi could you please fill out your system specs under User CP so we can see what hardware you have (if you don't know your system specs use Speccy to find them).

There are several things you should try:

  • Restart your router,
  • Disable your Wireless card, restart your PC and reenable it,
  • Make sure your WLAN driver is up to date.

The things we really need to know are what your make and model of PC is, what WLAN card you have and how old your PC is.

Post back with any results or any questions.

Hiya thanks for your reply, I've tried adding as much as I could to the specs. The laptop is about 18 months old.
I've tried restarting the router, and i tried to switch off my firewall because I read that might help but still no luck!
As soon as I find out how to do the other two things I'll let you know if they worked lol

I tried disabling the wireless card and then re-enabling it and it's telling me that a problem still exists "Windows did not receive any response from the wireless router or access point"
The PC I'm on now connects through the cable so could the fault be the router?

It could well be, although I'm still enclined to say it's your PC.

Do you have any other devices that connect to your Router wirelessly?

Hmmm, no it's only my laptop that uses the wireless connection. I'll leave it for tonight and no doubt I'll be back tomorrow unless it corrects itself overnight... lol.
Thanks so much for your help! :)

If it's fixed I'l mark it solved.

Hardware really does have a mind of it's own :p.
