Hey folks,

I contracted that nasty AV virus this weekend which pretty much ruined my wknd. Managed to get rid of it Sunday using MalwareBytes, but it killed my wireless connection so I'm here hoping to get some help.

Background

Contracted AV
Killed it using MalwareBytes

OS

Windows Vista

Symptons

When I click on the Network and Sharing Connection it shows that the internet is blocked (red cross between middle computer logo and right globe).

Middle computer logo shows 'Identifying' and has been for over 24 hrs.

When I click 'connect to a network' is shows that I'm connected, and the other laptop in the house is online just fine.

What I've tried

1. Open IE > Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings > unclick 'Use a proxy server...'

2. Rebooting

3. Restarting the DHCP client service (one of the options when I click Diagose the Problem)

4. Automatically get new IP settings for the network adapter "Wireless Network Connection" (one of the options when I click Diagose the Problem)

novice-mediocre windows savvi so may need to walk me through any steps.

Thanks very much in advance for any help!
