Hi all,
I recently started having several problems with my Vaio, running Vista Business, SP2:
-Log in takes 3-5 minutes. The dependency service or group failed to start
-No wireless connection. The Windows wireless service is not running. Connection status: unknown The dependency service or group failed to start.
-DHCP client says it is "starting".
-System event notification service (SENS) is "starting"
-Problem report tells shows service hang report for both DHCP and SENS.
-Event Log is unavailable. Verify that the service is running.
-Task Scheduler service is not available. Verify that the service is running.
-Windows update screen very slow, view update history only gets me a blank screen...
I've tried system restore but when completed, Kaspersky suddenly warned about and deleted a trojan - problems start again.
No luck with SFC /Scannow (yields no errors) and nets winsock reset catalog did nothing.
(Edit: kaspersky now finds nothing)
Any other good ideas out there?
thx
