Internet connection conflict

Hi
Info:
Computer OS is Vista.
Connected to BTHub via ethernet (wired).
Network is Private.
Problem:
Recently (this past week) I've had problems connecting to the internet. When I look in the 'Network and Sharing Centre' there is a second network. According to help software, my problem is caused because a second unknown Public network is running.
If I delete the unknown Public network (I did not create this) then I am able to connect to the internet. So I know how to get connectivity back.
However, the second unknown Public network can reappear; sometimes after a reboot.
My Internet Security program ran a full Scan and found nothing.

Can anyone offer any reason and permanent solution to this problem?
All advice is much appreciated.

Has your bthub got any type of wireless turned on?
If it has then disable it or turn it off.

Hi Roy69
My daughter has a wireless computer that uses the hub. Her computer has been using the household Hub for in excess of 4 years with no problems. I do not have any wireless capability for my computer.
It is set as Private network, but is broadcasted so that daughter can locate it; wireless computers can only connect with passwords. It is secured.
There is also a Hub phone. This phone has no problems.
My computer 'seems' to create a Public network on its own, the result of which means my computer cannot connect as 2 networks are running and there is a conflict until I delete the Public unknown network.
Weird stuff. But I could do with knowing why it has suddenly decided to do :)

I dont know why a public conection would be created.
I have found some reference material for you to go through, it may be useful.
BT Home Hub - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Can you expand the public connection to see what it is connected to?
