Issue with Atheros!

Hi all, someone with a Vista Home Premium SP2 (32-bit) here (the specific machine is a Toshiba Satellite L305D), and I've got an issue I was hoping you could all help with. Predictably enough, as per the forum name, I am having issues with connecting to the Internet.

To be specific, when I start up my computer, the little symbol that used to instantly say I'm connected to the Internet now says I'm not, and quickly opening a browser proves this to be true. When I open the "Connect to a network" dialogue box, it says (still with the red X at the bottom in the tray) that I'm "Connected, with limited access." I then have to go into Device Manager and roll back or update my drivers, following which I gain connection and can work and play on the Internet to my heart's content.

At first, that Device Manager solution seemed to fix the problem for limited periods of time, usually a week or two, with sporadic outages and going back to either update or roll back the drivers. I now have to open Device Manager every day. Understandably enough, I wish not to do this any longer.

The network adapter I'm working with is an Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter (currently at the latest version in the system, 7/28/2008). There is also a Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller, but it's the Atheros I always have to fix.

Please assist!

You could delete the currently installed Atheros driver and restart the computer.

After restart the system will find out that there is no driver for your wifi and install the latest driver from Microsoft's update site. If this does not happen automatically - go to device manager and install the driver manually from the Internet (Microsoft Update).

If this does not correct the problem - look on the Toshiba site for a suitable driver!
(Before installing the new driver always delete the old driver and restart the OS!)

I also had problems with my Atheros driver before! :D

Tried the first method this morning. Tomorrow, if it doesn't work, I'm getting the drivers from Toshiba's website. Thanks in advance if this all works out!
