Unknown computers connected to your network

Hello all,

I hope this is the right forum for this.

That said, I am running Vista with a wireless interner connection.

When I check my "Wi-Fi Intrusion Detection" (Trend Micro PC-cillin), I see multiple unknown computers connected to my computer.

The "status" in unknown, but IP addresses are listed.

Looking up the IP addresses, some are within a few hours of my home, while others are over six hours away!

Now, when I check my "network" from the start menu, and then check "network and sharing center", I only see:

My computer---Network---Internet.

I do not see multiple computers here.

I have file sharing turned off.

I use the wireless internet for online gaming; maybe this why I see so many IP addresses on the "Wi-Fi Intrusion Detection"?

I use a WPA 26 Hex character password for the router.

Thanks in advance!

You need to check your router log. That'll tell you if your intruder is on the network... but I doubt hey are.

Sounds like you were scanned and the program reports it weird. As you wouldn't see a unique ip as a wireless attack. Theyre Probably pings from your isp.

Though I'm alittle confused on your setup.... Is it a desktop/laptop connecting to a wifi router? Or through a mobile wireless signal like a smartphone.

Thank you for the reply!

I am using a desktop connecting to a Motorola wireless hook-up, since my desktop is nowhere near my 360.

So do you think I am safe, then?

Also, how do I check my router log?

Thanks again!
