Slow wireless connection, fast eithernet

Suddenly, my wireless connection has gone from very good to pitiful. My tested speed using the wireless connection is <1000kps. Another laptop in the same location tests around 7000 kbs on the same router. When I connection the subject laptop directly to the router via cable the speed is normal (around 8000 kbs).

I have taken the following steps already without results:
- Reboot several times
- Virus scan (several Java related cleaned)
- Windows update to latest patch
- Tried 3 different browsers with same result
- Deleted and re-established the router connection

Any ideas.

Hello and welcome to the forum, have you tried a different usb port, I had a problem myself and just moved it and the problem corrected it's self.

Download malwarebytes and run a Full scan also that way you know there is no malware on your system.
