Problem recognising wireless device

Hi, I'm looking for some help getting my Micronet LAN PCI adapter to work. I am running Vista home basic and have installed the latest drivers. In manage my devices the device is showing disabled so I click on it and it says "Enabling" and then "Enabled" and then nothing changes. It just shows disabled. In the device manager the wireless card says it is functioning properly.
This is the 3rd wireless device I have installed (I tried 2 Realtek USB adapters as well) and I always get the same problem. Vista's auto installer tells me it has installed the drivers for the new hardware and the installation software all runs no probs but each time the device shows as disabled.

Any help would be much appreciated as Netgear support had no answers :(
