wifi connection lost

hello vista forum

my mums laptop is a New ASUS N61J with NVIDIA Optimus and USB 3.0

and i've been trying to connect to wireless with it, but it's not working. the little bar on the bottom right has a big red X on it, and i can't see any connectable devices when i try connecting. i try pressing FN and F2 to "enable wifi" (not sure) but nothing happens.

my internet provider is BT, a BT homehub 2

please may someone help me

ok, i've checked that my hub allows wirelss, and the password is correct, and i've tried plugging the cable from my hub to the laptop, and it works. so is there a problem with the wireless of the hub or the laptop?

Sorry couldn't see your printscreen pic.

Do you have BT's Broadband Desktop Help downloaded on your computer/s?
If not download it please.

In the taskbar usually, whatever symbol represents your boadband connection, right click>a menu should appear> Connect to network > Diagnose & Repair etc. Do you have this?

Look at the following screenshots they may help.
Main assistance should be with desktop help, or contact BT it is 365 + 24/7 assistance.

I have self same hub with 3 computers all running wireless. So we will take things a step at a time & hopefully get you going.
