Gday

I had to do a Paragon system recovery a couple of days ago. I play Warcraft 3 The Frozen Throne on Battlenet.

Now while it isn't a huge difference, it is enough to bug me. Prior to my system crash my ping on Battlenet was 265ms, now I cannot get it under 328ms.

I did a tracert, while I will not paste my IP, I will paste the log

I have not changed anything since my last backup, I have been back through my services to make sure any unnecessary ones have been disabled. All is at should be.

I have put a new ether-net cable from my modem/router to my PC to rule that out. Still no change.

Any suggestions?

Hello Fiery, welcome to the forum.

Ping is the amount of time that takes for a packet to get from you to the server and back to you. The farther the server is from you, the higher the ping time is going to be. Doing a traceroute will tell you where the slowest segments are, but since no human being picks your path, you can't do anything about it. It's the internet routers - the ones that make sure that every packet will eventually reach its destination even if half the internet disappears - that choose the route.

What I suggest you to Call the ISP. If you get the typical run a round ask to speak with a supervisor. Tell them you are experiencing a high ping when you test the connection. They may send a technician out to test the line, could be something that is beyond your control and you will be happy after you called.

Thanks.
Arvin
