Hello All
Recently my Internet has been going off for it seems no reason, i have a Bt Hub, every now and then internet goes off and sign comes on the screen say your Hub is not connected to the Internet, it then a says a cable in not connected, when i check the cables they are all ok , then a couple of minutes later everyting is back to normal, also sometimes my msn dosent work and it say it is unavailable at the moment,
could it be this is BT messing around with there servers?

Thanks
Allan

Welcome Allan

Of course it could be the servers, but it could be a host of other things.
Can you connect your computer via cable to see if the problem continues?
Can you tell if all computers in your home have the same problem at the same time?
Can you ask a friend using the same servers if he too has a problem?
Did you call the company?
Finally go to search and type event viewer
In event viewer look for errors that may explain your problem
I wish you luck

If you and your daughter had the same problem at the same time the cause has to be the hub or the ISP.
Does not sound like a Vista software problem.

Hi Allan, Welcome to the forum. Sorry about your troubles.

After completing the excellent suggestions by Richc, if you are still having problems may I suggest that you download the BT Broadband Desktop Help program from:-

BT Broadband Desktop Help | Help | BT.com Help

It is a good source of problem solving and information. They also have a 24hr. free helpline if your'e really stuck. Which BT Hub do you have?

I use BT myself for all my computers,I use the new Hub 3, and on occasions there are interruptions to service through upgrade work which is being carried out in many places at the moment. The best way to check is online for any work in your area.

Hope this information may be of use to you.
Thank you.

Too slow typing again!

Hi Allen,
The Broadband desktop help. I will be surprised if it is not already downloaded onto your computer?
Do also follow Rich's suggestions.
Thank you.
