My Vista-powered notebook is unable to connect to the Internet

It has been two weeks since I discovered that my Lenovo notebook is unable to connect to the Internet. I think that it might be caused by a software I downloaded negligently, which is a ''hide your IP'' type of device. My Vista notebook is running as smoothly as before, but deprived of an Internet connection.

Can anyone suggest solutions on how to repair my Internet connection, or better still, reset my operating system? By the way, my manufacturer did not provide me with a Vista Recovery/Installation Disk. Also, a recovery manager software, unlike in HP, isn't installed. Thank you!

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Yes do a system restore not a factory restore, you go back about 5 days before the problem started and it should correct the probelm, you don't lose any of your documents etc. Lets say if you did a restore 5 days ago you would lose any new software you have downloaded and then you would have to reinstall it.

A system restore is very easy just follow the tutorials and you will be fine..
