Accessing C drives

I have two problems with Vista Networking. (XP was so much easier)

First I have 5 computers networked. Two Desktops Vista, one Laptop Vista, Two Desktops XP. All through a 4 port router and a wireless for the laptop.

I cannot view the c:\ drives on either Desktop Vista or Laptop Vista from each of the vista computers. I can see the portable drives connected to the Vista Desktops only. All the Vistas tell me that Windows cannot access these drives. All my permissions are set to full and all are on one network and workgroup. The printer tells me that Operation cannot be completed.

I'll get to to XP accessing Vista computers yet I can access XP from the vistas at another time.

What am I missing here? Any help?

in the sharing options, have you allowed a guest account? i found that letting a guest account have access to the drives (view only) then this seems to help, password protection seems to make things more difficult.

Edit: i'm on 7 but the sharing options are very similar to Vista.

Hey great it worked now I can see the c:\ drives on the Vista comps. Thanks very much.

The next problem is the shared printer. Can't get to print from any Vista Comp (Desktop or Laptop) but I can from the XP comps (Desktop and Laptop). Keeps giving me error message. What gives? If the xp comps work with the shared printer then I know it is setup on the network.

Any ideas?

have you tried allowing the printer sharing on the other comps? vista tends to be a bit fussy when it comes to printing to network printers, the other option is to install the printer (via the network) on the vista comps, go to control panel and go to view printers and devices, then add a printer, it should search for network printers to install from there :)
