Networking Identifying (Running out of ideas!)

Guys, hopefully you can help me out. I've been without internet for the past 2 weeks and I pretty much ran out of ideas. Long story short, I had a virus and I was able to delete it. In the process of deleting the files, I lost internet connection. I have no idea what to do now, i pretty much ran every diagnostics there is. I came to a conclusion that because I have no gateway, there must be something wrong with the registry when I deleted the virus. But I have no idea what to do now HEEEEEEELP:shock::shock:

1). Unplugging/restarting the modem - did not work

2). Winsock Fix - did not work

3). Tried to flush the dns - did not work

4). Uninstalling McAfee - Did not work

5). Turning off IP6 - did not work

6). services.msc fix - did not work

Pretty much everything :( Can't afford to reformat

I also wanted to note that I am currently on wireless and before I could access the public sharing files but at the moment i currently cannot :(

Before you do the install, we can back up. But in theory you will not lose anything. Dont bet your important stuff on that though.
It does not format, it merrly installs over what you have, leaving your stuff intact, but back up first, to be sure.

You can get some really good free backup programs now. See this list:
Free Hard Disk Backup and Restore, Hard Disk Image and Cloning Utilities (thefreecountry.com)

It's a good idea to have either a couple of external USB drives, or use a USB docking station. With the dock you can stick cheap internal drives in the box. I got a little stack of plastic drawers for $8 at Walmart that's perfect for storing the drives when not in the docks.
