Welcome
Acrobat and explorer have a few conflicts. I could not get mine to open large PDF's, try foxit, you will be most happy with the results.
Many consider it superior to Acrobat and it uses less resources http://foxitsoftware.com/Secure_PDF_Reader/
I use FireFox version 9.01 as my default browser, and i have Latest adobe reader. Maybe that is why mine works and the OP's does not, yeah, maybe change browsers instead of using IE .
Yard Dog, I uninstalled Norton temporarily. I used Malwarebytes, Revo then TFC. I still get the error 1606 appdata.
I have Firefox but don't see the point in changing to it or other readers. This PC has been running Adobe with IE and Norton fine until I tried to upgrade. THis happens while installing so why would a browser affect it? Thanks for all responses.
IE 9 is safer , that is reason it was developed , you really should use it. Is IE 8 your default browser ? By the way, Firefox 9.0.1 is very good browser, i use it . Foxit reader does use less resources, why not try it ?
I will upgrade to IE9. I have used Firefox in the past. I may try Foxit, but I am not a computer tinkerer. I just want it to work when I log on. In the mean time I figured ot out. I logged in as Admin and installed from there. For some reason logging in as the regular user and using the admin password when asked would not work. I have never run into this before. Thanks for the help!
