Windows can not detect any additional networks

Hi i have recently came back from a long trip to find my PC behaving rather odd when it comes to my network and sharing center. Everything is fine during the first 10mins of my fresh boot, I can get onto my network with no problem, surf the web, view other networks in my area, and all that mumbo jumbo. But after that 10mins(estimate always random) my wi-fi can't detect anything. What's even stranger is that I'm still connected to the internet until I am disconnected when I put my computer to sleep, or get randomly get disconnected(which happens when someone in the house is doing something big with the bandwidth or when my ISP decides to be lame). I'm not into the whole networking deal so my guess is to reinstall my networkcards driver.
    things to note
-I have an HP desktop model number a6720f that has a wireless antenna.
-I'm running WLAN optimizer to turn off the backround scan for my gaming
-ran the CMD tip and well...it says im disconnected from the internet
-ran a ping to my router says im connected

My own network if I ever get disconnected or have to restart my router. Rebooting every time my network decides to spazz out is really inconvenient
    also running SP2

K, i think i understand you now. You connect to a household router that has several users on it , correct ? And at times , you lose your connection. Try to clean out your DNS cache and then reconnect to the router : DNS Resolver Cache

Just my computer strangely. It's the only one where I had to go through some troubleshooting with. Even my laptop that I use for school doesnt have issues when it comes to anything network related.

Re: Windows can not detect any additional networks

Your terminology is confusing to me. You are connected to one router or access point , and it is shared by users in your household or other users nearby that have password to router ? And you share files and such with all ? Or do you just access the router and not share anything ? This would , to me. be ONE network . What is confusing to me , is the term you use Other Networks. So, can you help me understand what you mean ?

Yes, I use a household network that I share files with and have security, password, and all that.

I only used the term other networks to describe my situation. Right now I can view other networks in my neighborhood and mine which I connect to.(with your help)

My problem was I didn't see my network or any other networks around me.(i don't connect to those other networks i was just using them as a reference).
