Can connect to wireless but can't connect to internet.

    Can connect to wireless but can't connect to internet.

    Yes I can actually connect to my wireless but i can't connect to my Internet and i think this might be needed

    P.S While i was posting this i was using a cable from the modem providing me internet and I can connect to it with VOP's without password cause when i try to put passwords i can't connect and when other computers try to connect it's fine.

    I think we need some plain English here-

    I assume you have a router hard cabled to your cable modem with CAT 5. The router is hard connected to your computer which has the Vista OS.

    You can access the above wirelessly from another computer but you can't access the internet that way from the other computer.

    Is that correct?

    Uhmmm hi sorry it took me long to reply but there was once a notification of turning on norton firewall and (Usually I click yes) but once I did not and there came the wireless got internet and now I System restored back to factory setting my laptop (because it gets frozen) and now I uninstalled directly the norton hoping it will not distract wireless connections anymore but I can't connect again help please?

    Have you tried turning off User Access Control?

    And sorry cause english is not my language i'm a filipino.

    and yes other computers can access my internet using the wireless but when i don't put any password on the wifi i can connect to the internet instantly (But i want my wifi password protected)

    Now I'm confused. You initially said you could not access the internet wirelessly but now you're saying you can.

    The Wi-Fi settings would be in your network setup (possibly the router). If it's the router setup, normally you have to log on to the manufacturers setup progam on the web (that's what I have to do with NetGear).

    same problem as mine....i think the problem that you also have a wlan card that is not working properly...until now i cant acess to the net...i always used an internet cable through the router....maybe tha wlan card of mine is need to replace.....hope it will help you....

    Okay if someone asks same question as I did tell them to update there wifi through windows update it just worked but thanks alot for helping me.
