At startup, I get this notification bubble from the notification area (system tray):

At startup, I get this notification bubble from the notification area (system tray):

What happens when you click to see the status?
I get the 'My Computer' window.
If I can remember tomorrow, I'll look to see what's in My Computer. I never use it.
This is the only answer that I've read of:
I don't know if this is safe or if I need: How to Turn Network Discovery On or Off in Vistadelete the drive from my comptuer, go into network neighborhood and locate the drive you want to network, right click on it and select map network drive. if prompted for login, enter information and select save credentials.
Judging from the message you got, network discovery is on.
By the way, I don't have My Computer in Vista. I see Computer. Maybe I don't know how to get to it.
Computer is in the Start menu, if not then:
Right-click the Start button > Properties > Customize > Computer > Display as a link.
If you meant that you want the desktop icon then:
Right-click on the desktop > Personalize > Change destktop icons > check Computer
This is an answer that I got from another forum, but I don't know if its safe:
delete the drive from my comptuer, go into network neighborhood and locate the drive you want to network, right click on it and select map network drive. if prompted for login, enter information and select save credentials.
I capitalized "My Computer" and "Computer" to distinguish them from one another. XP and earlier used "My Computer" and I thought possibly that you weren't using Vista.
When you go to Computer, select Tools and click on Map Network Drive. I have no idea why the quote you provided says "delete the drive".
Sorry, solution for message didn't work!
