Printer problem

I just bought my new printer, HP INKJET ADVANTAGE 2060 K110. It functions well in MS Word but in MS Excel, it doesn't work. It only has the status "READY" but when I chose the printer, it doesn't appear.

On the Control Panel, when I set it as default, an error message prompts.
"Operation could not be completed.Double check the printer name and make sure that the printer is connected to the network.

I believe I didn't access the Network and Sharing Center.

How can I fix this problem? How will I know if my computer isn't shared on the network? I hope someone can help me on this one.

Is the printer name displayed properly in Control Panel\Printers?

If you go to Device Manager, is your printer shown and is it error free (no yellow exclamation point)?

Have you checked the HP website for the latest driver for your printer?

I'm not sure what the network has to do with this. I assume the printer is connected directly to your computer.

Hi Wither 3.

Thank you for your response.

in my Device Manager, the name HP INKJET ADVANTAGE 2060 K110 is shown but under the Imaging Devices. I believe this one is for the scanner.

If that is so, then there is nothing shown for the printer.

What shall I do?

On my system, the printer shows up under IEEE 1284.4 compatible printer even though it's connected by USB. I see that you also have a USB connection.

Since it's a multifunction device, I can understand how it could show up under imaging devices.

Did you install the cartridges and align the printer before you started the installation?

Did you wait until the software asked you to connect to the USB connection on your computer before you connected it?

In Device Manager, is it shown under Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
