Hi,
I want to use the memory card reader on the HP D7260 printer.
This printer is on a local network shared with a Desktop and a Laptop.
Printing works OK from either computer.
The drivers are up to date.
I can view the pictures on the memory card, but, when I try to save (to the computer)
I get an error:

"Not set up you need to install device software"

I posted to the HP forums and I was advised to map the shared PC to the shared Printer.
HP is having a 24 hour "Experts Day" and I did get one response.



The mapping they suggested did not work for me.
It was to map:
\\<sharedcomputername>\<sharedprintername>

I verified the following names with NET VIEW \\FRANKSPC
I used this mapping to letter J:
\\FRANKSPC\HP Photosmart D7200 series BT 12-8-08

The mapping program finds FRANKSPC but it cannot find:
\HP Photosmart D7200 series BT 12-8-08
which is the shared printer name displayed by NET VIEW
Any Suggestions?

I think that I have made some progress!
Using this path for mapping a device
\\FRANKSPC\HP Photosmart D7200 series BT 12-8-08\Memory_Card
I no longer get
J is not accessible. The system cannot find the drive specified"
Now I get
"The specified network resource or device is no longer available"

When I use I.E to show I P \\192.168.1.115 (the printer I P) I do see a folder for
memory_card (\\192.168.1.115).
Properties > Network tab > Workgroup shows MSHOME

At Control panel > System > Computer name, domain and workgroup setting
Workgroup is = to WORKGROUP.
Is this mismatch in workgroup name causing my problem?

I changed my local network from Public to Private and then this "Map Network Drive" worked!

map to letter "J"
//HP3B9FF7\Memory_card

HP3B9FF7 is the hostname from the Printer Network Configuration page

I CAN now access the pictures using the reader built into the D7260 printer.
The mis-matched group name was apparently not the problem though, it would be good to be able to change it from MSHOME to WORKGROUP
