Pretty mean gaming machine or do you actually use it as a server?

Re: PassMark 6.1 Scores

Looking at a 4850x2 or 4870x2 to replace my 8800 GTS. It was built for Photoshop CS4 and Lightroom 2.2.

Re: PassMark 6.1 Scores

DO you really need 16 GB RAM for Photoshop?

Re: PassMark 6.1 Scores

TIFF files can be 40GB. So 16GB RAM + 24GB paging file. CS4 can use 4 cores and 16GB in 64-bit mode. I shoot in RAW with an Olympus E-500 8MP (14.7MB per RAW) and E-520 10MP (11MB-16MB per RAW).

I can run CS4, LR 2.2, and Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9 at the same time. I have not tested CS4 to its full potential.

Re: PassMark 6.1 Scores

Impressive!

Do you have to use a server board for all that?
