Halo2 detects slow processor, runs s l o w

I have a brand new I BUY POWER desktop 4 gig of memory 64 bit 5 speed. Home premium Vista, A gamers machine I got from amazon to play Halo.

I install Halo and up pops a message:

Current speed 1000 megahurtz
Max speed 2600 megahurtz
Minimum required to run Halo 1500

I looked at the bios and on the control panel for its configuration it says 2.6 so, is there something I can check to see if halo is getting the right processor response when it starts up?

Sounds like you have an Intel processor. You should read the stickies:

+1 speedstep all though it's odd that it's not clocking up when it should be.
