Overclocking Ram

Hey peeps and geeks,

So todays question is - Overclocking ram?

First of all, this is the ram i am using
OCZ Technology | Products | Memory | OCZ PC3-10666 ReaperX HPC Enhanced Bandwidth

Now believe it or not, i have 8 gb which means i have four sticks, Thank you Arctic-Cooling for you Arctic RC and turbo module.

So thats my ram, can i safely overclock this ram to 1600MHZ, its running at stock at the mo of 1333MHZ.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Luckystar...

give it a shot mate, they appear to be pretty capable sticks....

dont go over 1.9v .... loosen the timings off as far as you can, then up the frequency till your happy, then work on re-tightening your timings....

you may struggle to get them to clock that well in an 8gb format.

Re: Overclocking Ram

yeah i gotta agree , your gonna struggle with so many sticks , it will OC but i think you'll hit a ceiling earlier than you would with 2 , and you will struggle with voltage , again its the 4 stick thing , you may need to up it more than you'd like to get it stable.

and if your a gamer you'll notice no improvement in FPS just faster benchmark times in sisoft sandra and everest , is it REALLY worth the hassle?
