Overclocking my graphics card :)

Hi all
I have a Asus engtx 275 and was overclocking it my final clocks are
723/1404/1257

All the

As far as the GeForce GTX 275 goes .. it's a pretty darn nice overclocker. We bumped the core to 743MHz vs. 632MHz standard, the shader clock is now 1605MHz vs. 1404MHz standard and the memory is running at 1282MHz (2564 effective) vs. 1134MHz standard.
The above is from GeForce GTX 275 Overclock guide

Yet the whole system locks out if i have the shader clock even at 1450? any reason why? i should be able to get 1605 according to this?

Re: Overclocking my graphics card :)

first off they (guru3d) will get a 275 directly from NVidia , an NVidia chip on an NVidia built and designed board (called a referance board) , these are no ordinary 275's and they dont reach the open market dont try and match any oc from a referance board ,

the shader clock is the most difficult to oc and will cause the most instability if clocked incorrectly , and if you clock your ram too high you can damage it same goes for the core , stick with a safe overclock , run 3d mark in a loop for a few hours and run ATI tool and use it to scan for artifacts , if it finds any its back to the drawing board
up your card by 5mhz at a time (yes you heard me right) when it starts to artifact back it off by 10mhz and your good to go

Or alternatively you could stop fecking around with it and enjoy it ingame

and stop using a synthetic benchmark as a guide to how good your overclock is , benchmarking programs are for bragging rights only , do you have call of duty waw? come join us online for a few games we'll show exactly what that bloody 275 is for

the referance board will have most likely had a voltage tweak in the card bios , like i say its no ordinary 275 , NVidia release the best of the best tweaked cards for testing , as you probably know the only part of NVidia on your gpu is the core , the rest is designed and built by Asus , NV design and build and tweak their refernce cards themselves , best quality ram best quality capacitors and give the voltage a tweak for higher clocks..............and before you ask yes you can tweak the voltage on your card by flashing the cards bios but id leave that bit of overclocking alone for now

I have all the cod series cod 1 is the best online multiplayer game in the history of the world but i only have WAW installed at the momment
