OC'ing my GPU/CPU

Hey all,
I want to overclock my desktop's CPU and GPU a little bit to let it run better while playing games. I have already stepped up the frequencies on my Galaxy GeForce GT240 1GB DDR3, to 600MHz on the core, 1555MHz on the shader processor and 900MHz on the memory, but I don't see much difference in FurMark. My CPU is an Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 running at 3GHz, and I'm not sure if it is safe to push it up to 3.5GHz. Does anyone know the limits of these two components running on a 450w PSU?

You won't notice much of a performance increase from overclocking the GPU.

What CPU cooler are you running? You'll ideally need a third party one if you want to overclock it. You should be able to get it to 3.4/3.5 with a bit of a voltage increase.

You need to add ALOT more info.

Is it your sig rig?

I'd wager heavily, your psu is at its limit... Its not a good brand, so I doubt its pushing a solid 400W.

Now, as youre stock at 3.0Ghz, and I assume youre still stock cooling, 3.5Ghz might be possible...

Up your fsb 50-75mhz per test. run prime95 or intelburntest to stress the cpu... keep it under 60C

What is your current Vcore? cpu-z will tell you that.

Also turn off est1 and speedstepping off in your bios.

I'm actually not expecting you'll need to bump your Vcore... But also remember youj'll need to manually set your ram speed to factory...... Are you sure you have ddr3 ram??

g/l go slow, watch temps. I'd first o/c the cpu, then go gpu.
