Windows Vista Key - How To Find the Windows Vista Product Key Code

Remember one thing when using programs like this (http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html will do nicely). It provides the key being used by the computer. If your system was pre-installed by the manufacturer, the code there will be the manufacturer's multi-use code and not the one assigned to your copy of Vista (which should be on a label on the side, back, bottom, or even in the battery case of the computer - or with the disk it came with if separately purchased). Unless you previously installed or re-installed the system and used YOUR product key to activate the installation or re-installation (in which case YOUR product key is in the system and this process will work), the manufacturer's product key will not work to activate Vista (automatically or manually no matter what you tell the people in the activation center).

I hope this clarifies things.

Good luck!

there is very good utility called ABR (Activation Backup and Restore) http://directedge.us/content/abr-activation-backup-and-restore that does save/restore your Vista activation keys. Please note that this is not in any way hacking/cracking utility but simply a tool helping you reactivate your official Vista keys with ease.

Cheers,
Miki
