GRID32.OCX not correctly registered, error 339

We have a VB6 application that ran on earlier versions of Vista, but in performing a clean load on the latest Vista we are getting this error on the Grid32.ocx. Microsoft Vista support infomation says the Grid32.ocx is supported, but not included with the Vista installation package.

We have tried installing it as administrator, manually registering it (regsvr32), which was successful. However, it still pops the error when it is called.

Has anybody found a workaround or solution?

I think you have to put that file in the c:\windows\sysWOW64 directory if your using the 64 bit version of Vista

I think you have to put that file in the c:\windows\system32 directory if your using the 32 bit version of Vista.

After you put the file there try re-registering it and see what happens. Also maybe the VB program has to know where the file is located on the C drive? (i guess??)

Thank you. As it turns out Microsoft does not support the grid32.ocx so there is not much I can do except move on to something that will work.
