O&O Defrag doesnt work

I installed o&o defrag x64 but the program's service which is /system32/oodag.exe didnt work. I tried to reinstall or start the service manually didnt work either. I use the latest installer. Has anyone had a problem like this??

I just tried to install diskeeper 2008 it gave the same error. Service doesnt start.

Not to spoil your favorite defrag programs, but neither of the above can even hold a candle up to PerfectDisk (and believe me, I tried them all).

PD8 not only works, but also does a fantastic job.

Try it.. 90 days free, I think.

I use O&O defrag on Vista ultimate x64 and it works fine....

Me too...and I find its better than perfectdisk

At least PD8 put the files in the right layout. O-O kept refusing that. At least it did on my rig.

I just reinstalled my vista (thanks to Norton Ghost it took 10 minutes). o&o works fine now but i think the problem was .net framework 3.5 because when i uninstalled .net at least sevices started but still both diskeeper or o&o didnt work. Thanks to all anyway.

When I first ran a fresh install of O&O on Vista it stopped moving files around showing a System Restore file as the current one; I've excluded that folder and it seems OK.
