Re: Computer window gone mad!

You need to find the folder options. In Windows Explorer it's usually under Tools > Folder Options. Not sure how to find it but see the pic to see what im talking about.
Click the image to open in full size.

Re: Computer window gone mad!

i tried this with no success...
also.. i realized that the computer folder and the sync center folder view are joined somehow....
when i changed view settings in the computer folder then the sync folder changed too
when i changed view settings in the sync folder then the computer folder changed!
they are joined together somehow to drive me crazy...... i know that.....
and if it is.. how do i use the regular Tiles instead of Extended tiles??

Re: Computer window gone mad!

You need to delete the Explorer Shell settings history as the settings have gotten corrupted.

You need to delete these keys in the Registry Editor:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\BagMRU

and

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Bags

or

If you want a quick fix; I am attaching a reg file you can run to do the same thing automagically.

Remember, be careful when editing the registry, you can break your computer if you delete/modify the incorrect thing, etc.

Also, rememeber you will lose you customized settings when you delete these but the benifits are worth setting your sorting and view types again.

Once you delete the keys/run the reg file; Reboot, and all should be well!
