I was looking at the new iTunes software that apple just released. It now says compatible with Vista 64. I will have to download on my home computer to see if CD burning now works. That would be great. Any downloaded and tried yet?

Just released as in today?

Becuase I installed it on Sunday (1/13) and iTunes told me that it can't burn cd's and needs to be re-installed. I just downloaded the 64-bit version of the gear drivers and it works.

Yeah I had done that a few weeks ago and all was fine. According to the Apple website, iTunes 7.6 does work with 64 bit Vista, I'll try it later today and post back here

Thanks. iTunes v7.6.0.29 was not there at 3:00 AM CST Sunday, but it is now. Apple states it does work with Vista x64 and it does seem to work with mine - audio, video, podcast, etc. No problems yet.

thank you, that's all i wanted. an update: i tried choosing the drivers from the list and i found an ipod driver under Apple, Inc. in the usb mass storage drivers, but when i choose that one, it seems to recognize the device, but then it disconnects and still tries to install driver software. the yellow triangle still appears next to the ipod under 'other devices'.

Sadly, this breaks iTunes DRM removal tools (whose legality can vary by your local, state, and national/international laws). If you want to use such tools, you can stay with 7.5 iTunes in the meantime. Of course, staying with the older version means no CD burning and installation warnings, but it works fine otherwise...
