Vista Media Center - Where is it?

This is probably a ridiculous and embarassing question, but try as I might, I can't locate Media Center on my PC!

It's Vista Ultimate x64, came pre-installed with this PC just before December. I've fiddled with it a fair bit - removed Aero, classic start menu etc. just to make it feel like "Classic Windows" as much as possible, but I don't recall removing Media Center in the process.

I've just got an XBox 360 so decided I'd try and setup my PC to the downstairs entertainment system to access my MP3's and play them on the "big speakers" (I assume that's all easy with an Xbox 360 downstairs and my PC with Media Center up here!?).

I just can't find where Media Center could be, and browsing the Microsoft site there's no sign of being able to download it - it just says "If you have Vista Ultimate then you have it... if not buy Vista Ultimate here!" (basically anyway). THere is mention of going to your start menu, all programs, and clicking media center there - but it's not in my start menu at all. I couldn't see any obvious looking folders in either of the two Vista Programs folders (the normal and the 86 one)... so could somebody tell me;

* Where would I go in my hard-drive to manually locate and run Media Center, assuming no green button on a media center remote and no start menu shortcuts.

* If I have somehow uninstalled Media Center, is there any way of re-installing it? I couldn't see it in the "Programs & Features -> Turn Windows features on or off" list, and putting my Ultimat install DVD in just asks me to go through the process of re-installing Vista Ultimate all over again (not really an option!).

* Is it possible I've just temporarily disabled it through services or anything?

Any help with what I feel to be a completely newbiesh question appreciated!

Hi Azzer,

Welcome to the Vista Forums.

Right click on the desktop and select create shortcut. In the type location box type "C:\Windows\ehome\ehshell.exe." without quotes. Hit next and type in the name and click finish. You should get a shortcut on your desktop that you can move or copy where ever you want.

Hope this helps.

You can also select the Start Orb and type in Media center. The program will show at the top and you can select it there. You can also right click it and pin it to the start menu.
