    QBasic? On Vista?

Hey, I was just wondering if it is possible to use QBasic on Vista Ult 64-bit. My current school is doing a project which uses QBasic. I am on a late schedule and do not have time to finish it at school. So I really need to finish it off at home. Any help?

    Hi JinkoMk,

Vista does not support 16 bit or DOS programs, but you can workaround this by installing DOSBox first and using QBasic in it.

    Download QBasic:
DOSBox, a x86 emulator with DOS

    QBasic instructions:
Basic Setup and Installation of DosBox - DOSBoxWiki

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

I installed qbasic.exe in BASIC all on C drive. Did the mount and that is ok but can't get directory cd BASIC to work thanks JIM

You're welcome. There may of course be some bugs still left, so I suggest that you keep checking for updated versions on a regular basis. The link I gave previously is the one to use.

    Hello Jim,

Members cannot change their user name themselves.

What would you like to have as your user name?
