"Sharing Violation" Dreamweaver MX vs. 6.0

I'm having a terrible problem with Dreamweaver MX, went to Macromediate site, couldn't find answer to my problem.

I tried all the "compatibility", "run as administrator" etc... help. It just gets stuck at some point of time, can't insert tables, and program terminates.

Worked great before Vista. I even ran it under "compatibility with Windows Me, XP", etc...

Plus, I'm getting "Windows cannto find...make sure you typed name correctly" a lot. Then it works right after showing me that error.

Have had more problems with Vista in the 3 months I've had it than with XP in 2 yrs...I restored, everything...

Re: "Sharing Violation" Dreamweaver MX vs. 6.0

I had the same problem before whith dreamweaver MX on my Vista 64bit.
I only deleted the table that is created by default.

Go to C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Dreamweaver MX\Configuration\Objects\Common

Delete the file Table.htm (always make a backup first of this file)

Restart Dreamweaver MX

This worked for me and run dreamweaver for more than 1 year now on my vista system without any problem

Re: "Sharing Violation" Dreamweaver MX vs. 6.0

Thank you so very much, Maxighb, for taking the time to replying. I did end up downloading CS3 since MX is an old version. But I will definitely still try that as I still have MX on the computer. I'll let you know. Thanks so much!

Re: "Sharing Violation" Dreamweaver MX vs. 6.0

I replaced the Table.htm file with a basic table. DW now inserts that basic table which I can easily edit. I suspect that the javascript in the original Table.htm caused problems with Vista.
