Office 2002 Outlook and Vista

Greetings,
I just installed Office 2002 SP3 on my Lenovo Vista notebook and all the apps work except Outlook. When I start it, Outlook initially comes up but then window opens and displays:
Microsoft Outlook has stopped working (editors note: gee that's descriptive :()
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

Don't really want to update to Office 2007 so wondering if anyone has been able to get it to work on Vista.

I did do a search and there was a thread that said "If you have Vista, versions 2003 and later of Outlook run well; versions 2000 and 2002 run, but with some problems" so it seems like it can run on Vista.

Thanks in Advance,
Ray

Actually Outlook 2002 will not work without modification on Vista. If you Google Outlook 2002 and Vista you should find a blog post telling you how to do the modification. However, you do loose some features if I recall correctly. I was stuck in the same situation and ended up going for Outlook 2007. Paid $99 at Office Depot only to find out I could have gotten through my employee discount program for $49 .

I know, it sucks. But I can tell you Outlook 2007 is pretty cool. You could also look at Thunderbird, they have a calendar and contacts program to go along with it. Plus they're free. When I went with 07 they only offered the Email program or I might have gone with them.
