| Member Rep Power: 3 ![]() | Acrobat popup :( Hi, I get a setup popup sometimes when i right click on a folder or file. The popup says "Installing Acrobat setup files" with a small computer icon to the left and a cancel button down bottom. Also there is a blue status bar in the middle of the popup. Usually i just cancel the popup, but if i let it run the popup starts to install some kind of acrobat files. When done it asks to reboot. Anyone know how to get rid of this? |

I would look in the Acrobat settings to turn off any option that adds anything to the context menu and for automatic updates. Shawn |

| Member Rep Power: 3 ![]() | Re: Acrobat popup :( Hi, No it is completely random. ![]() I looked in acrobat's settings and i could not find a way to disable the popup. I then looked in the task manager and right clicked on the "acrotray.exe" process and got the popup. I was able to capture the popup to jpeg. It is attached. I then tried this again and it did not work. It seems to happen when i either right click or select properties on any object anywhere. |

If yes, then open msconfig, and uncheck any item for Adobe to disable the startup item. See Option Two, Method Two in this tutorial for how if needed. Restart the computer afterwards. Check to see if acrotray.exe is no longer in Task Manager. Startup Programs - Enable or Disable If not, then you try uninstalling the Adobe program and reinstall it to see if that helps. Hope this helps, Shawn |

You may need to boot into Safe Mode to uninstall it if you get a file in use error while trying. Shawn |
