Visual Studio 2008 Pro Unable to Launch setup.exe

I have been trying to install Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Pro and continue to run into the same error as soon as the disc opens up on the computer or even if it setup is manually clicked on. The error basically states that it's unable to launch setup.exe. I've even tried resetting the compatibility mode as well as running it as admin but nothing seems to work. I am running operating system Vista Home Premium 32 bit. Does anyone have any idea as of what's going on and or what I can do to resolve this issue? Any help at all is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Re: Visual Studio 2008 Pro Unable to Launch setup.exe

Hi Galskygge,

Your installation media is corrupted or has marks/scratches on important sectors, Try cleaning the disk or order a replacement...

Visual Studio works fine here and the symptoms you mentioned I have seen many times with broken installation media.
