DVD maker shuts down computer

    DVD maker shuts down computer

    I have recently reinstalled my windows vista home premium edition which resolved all my driver issues.

    And now whenever I try to burn a DVD with vista dvd maker it shuts down the computer apparently without any reason whatsoever!

    Ive never had that problem before and every DVD movie was well burned...

    Any clues what could be causing this?

    Im truly mistified by this...

    I read that some video formats seem to do this for no apparent reason
    what format are you trying to encode from?

    i did two avi formats but i think i already burned those without problems before...

    I also have the same problem when burning AVI's, and ive been meaning to inquire about this problem for a while now. Im really curious to see if there is a solution for this

    well what can you reccomend? But isnt there really some kind of trouble with the dvd maker itself?

    Could it be caused by the ffdshow?

    use Nero as a workaround
    or you could try using the codec pack

    Check for a setting to shutdown on completion. I remember seeing a setting in a older version of Nero like that.
