Advanced Windows Care

For the past week I have been working with IoBit in testing various betas of Advanced Windows Care.

Finally after many unreleased betas, I now have Advanced Windows Care working with Vista x64.

I would say that it won't be too long before they release the final version of Advanced Windows Care that is compatible with x64.

I consider Advanced Windows Care to be a great all in one program and after I had problems with their beta, I offered to test for them.

I will update this thread once it's released.

Re: Advanced Windows Care

I also downloaded and have tried the Beta. But I have been using the Personal(Free) edition for some time now, on 64 and 32 bit. I would recommend it as an all in one disk cleaner and reg cleaner to anyone. I run it once a week, on the defaults, and it has not (so far!) let me down.
I have also tried the Beta on the 64 bit Vista. It seemed to do it's job, but of course, I did not get any extra speed advantages as it is still 32 bit coding only.

Anyone interested can fetch the Beta from here:

or the Personal (Free) edition from here:

Question please and thank you: Are there any issues with Nortion's Internet Security and Windows Defender that I should be aware of before I forge ahead and d/l Advanced Windows Care?

Re: Advanced Windows Care

AFAICT NIS disables (or at the very least asks you to) Windows Defender....

Re: Advanced Windows Care

I was very disappointed in with this one..... very little in the way of control for the more advanced user
and a bug that i really didn't like was when i went to the start menu>all programs it had created a folder in the all programs menu that when opened contained a second list of all the programs in the all programs list..... i dread to think how many times this could have potentially looped and crash filled my HDD

I just figured out what AFAICT means.

I am running Norton Internet Security 2007 and Windows Defender. Both came preloaded on my new machine. No conflicts between those two programs.

What I want to know is if AWCare conflicts with either one.

Thanx

Re: Advanced Windows Care

My apologies - I thought you meant between the two programs and not between AWC and either of those two programs.

Although, I am not sure why you would want AWC since you already have Defender (built in) And NIS....

Sorry I didn't make myself clear to begin with. TY for answering my question. I too don't know why I would need AWC along with Defender and NIS. Someone suggested I d/l and install it but thot I'd check here first.

You are all the best!

Re: Advanced Windows Care

Hi,

Glary Utilities now has x64 version. I have been using it for a while and it works very well - excellent undelete function too. It's nice and small only 19mb.

If you are thinking of using the registry cleaner on any of these tools, might be a good idea to delete that second sysWOW6432 node first.
