Software to extract recovery??

Hi Ppl, is there any software that can be used to extract the recovery in the partition of the harddisk on to a disc?

Ppl have told me that there is a program in window vista that I can extract from but that program can only be used once. When I bought my lappy, I think the program had already been used. So Im thinking whether are there any other ways to extract it.

Thanks Ppl!

Re: Software to extract recovery??

If you can afford an external USB drive a better solution would be to use a Vista Image Backup program. When you restore from the backup, all the programs you installed up to the point you did the backup will be there ready to use, like a snapshot of the moment you did the backup. If you do a System Restore then all the stuff you installed since you got the machine will be lost. If you google you can find free image backup programs out there. The one I use cost me $40 and it's very easy to backup and restore. Paragon Drive Backup Personal 9.0. When your system won't boot you don't want to try to remember complicated stuff to get it going again. So it's nice to have a restore where you just Boot the recovery CD and get the backup off an external drive. This Paragon picks up your USB controller so just about any dependable USB external drive can be used to hold your snapshots.

I've restored with Paragon a few times. The only way you can tell anything happened
is when you do a Virus scan it says the MBR has been changed(you saved it during
backup and wrote it back during the restore if you saved the entire drive.)

They claim the Personal edition 9.0 also supports Vista 64 bit so it may be a good choice.
