Hey i was just wondering if any body could tell me how to set up a file transfer between my laptop and my 360?
Do i need Windows Media Center to do this? Or should it just be straight forward its only music i would like to transfer, all the steps on Microsoft's websites are a bit vague and really didn't get me anywhere:confused:
I would be very grateful if sum1 could help, thanks

you can stream from a pc to the 360 not really transfer and I use Media Centre on vista Home Premium and ultimate has it too.

a third part app is tversity that should work with vista basic - I've never used it though - see link TVersity - Download
read up to see if its right for you.

there used to be Windows Media Connect but i think thats only for windows xp
not sure though may be same procedure for vista basic.

Otherwise if you want music on your 360, you can rip direct from a cd to the xbox 360 hard drive or put files on a cd, or flash drive connected via usb port.
I have even used a portable 2.5 hdd for vids amd music via usb on a 360.
