Install XP 64 to Windows Virtual PC 2007

Hi I am trying to install, Windows XP 64 as a Guest in a Windows Vista 64 Ultimate host through Windows Virtual PC 2007.

I have down loaded Windows Virtual PC 2007 and have it instaled as a software application on my Windows Vista 64 Ulimate computer. I have used the Windows Virtual PC 2007 software to create a Windows Virtual PC, it has a plain black screen with simple letters on it. What I can't figure out is how to get the Windows XP 64 on the install disc in to the Virtual PC.:o

Best and Warm Regards

You cannot - Virtual PC only supports 32bit Operating Systems as guests - I tried the same thing myself, and that is how I found out - See Microsoft Virtual PC - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

What I did when I found that out was sign up to Beta test VMWare new VMWorkstation. It supports both 32bit OSs and 64bit OSs.

Thanx John much appreciated, I saw that myself in Wiki before I tried to get XP 64 on to Windows Virtual PC 2007 but it is a bit confuseing as they do not say it XP 64 does not not Work just that the 32 bit version Works, so I thought it worth a shot.........but great to have my suspicions about it conformed, that said it is hardly a brillant achievement for Microsoft that one can not use their Virtual PC product to allow Vista 64 to host an XP 64 Guest.

Best and Warm Regards and thanks again.

I agree - hence my immediate jump ship to VMWare - and since I signed up to Beta test it is even better because I am not having to fight quick expiration times on the time limited trial software.
