Vista - Windows Search HUGE PROBLEM

Does anyone know how to fix the problem with Windows Desktop Search.


When I apply the update from Microsoft (Windows Search 4.0) it will delete two folders.

Windows which is located in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Search\Data\Applications
&
Config which is located in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Search\Data

I can't take this anymore my main purpose of using this was to work with Outlook 2007. Everything on my PC is up to date. I have removed every possible security program.

SO CAN ANYONE PLEASE GIVE ME SOME ADVISE. I READ ON A PAGE THAT SOMEONE FOUND A SOLUTION, BUT DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING ELSE.

OK, so is the problem that it is deleting the folders, or is it another problem?

First problem is that indexing is non functional and the buttons are grey in the control panel indexing options windows dialogue

2147218141- also I recieve this error code when trying to start the service manually. It is set to Automatic though

What happens if you uninstall Windows Search 4?

those folders remain and don't get deleted automatically. it really seems that when installing windows search 4.0 the serious problems occur. strange ?
